About the 1st Walden Panel on Ionic Liquids
We are excited to launch a new, forward-looking event to explore and define the future of ionic liquid research. The 1st Walden Panel on Ionic Liquids will be all about collaboration and will bring together early career researchers from diverse backgrounds. In honour of Paul Walden, who synthesized the first ionic liquid in Riga in 1914, we will host this event at the University of Latvia not far from the birthplace of our field. We’re inviting emerging voices in ionic liquid research to share ideas about the future of the field. The event will be a chance to challenge current paradigms and set up new collaborations.
The event will be held on 8 & 9 April 2026.
